Description
Product: Lavender Flowers
Botanical Name: Lavandula angustifolia
Origin: France
English lavender that is grown in the Provence region of France. Our No. 1 grade (“Super”) lavender has a characteristic blue-purple color and a sharp, piney-lavender scent. Lavender flower buds are about the size of a grain of rice and are not on stems. This lavender is recommended for jar potpourris and tea uses, but may also be used for sachets, dream pillows, and bath herbs.
It’s known as Lavandula Officinalis, lavender flowers/buds come from the plant family Lamiaceae (which also include mints) and have a variety of uses. They are very aromatic, and they maintain full aroma when in dry form. In terms of texture, they are dry but not crunchy. The flower buds are extremely light, so a small quantity will go a long way. The small buds originate from the flowers that bloom from late spring to early autumn and vary from rich purple color to pale lavender.
