Behentrimonium Methosulfate is the quaternary ammonium salt that is used as hair conditioning and antistatic agent. It is a vegetable-based conditioning emulsifier. It can be used to emulsify lotions and scrubs but is more commonly used to make hair conditioners.
Behentrimonium Methosulfate is a quaternary ammonium salt derived from the natural Rapeseed Oil. It offers excellent detangling and conditions without the build-up often seen with other conditioning quaternary conditioning agents. It is both a mild primary emulsifier and an excellent conditioning agent, which provides elegant cationic emulsions for both skin and hair care products. These creams tend to resist wash off, leaving a soft, powdery feel on the skin and imparting excellent detangling properties to hair conditioners. In a hair conditioner, it offers improved wet comb and leaves hair with noticeable body and spring. Due to its extreme mildness, it is suitable for leave-in conditioners and Can be used in the formulation of any type of conditioner.
It leaves skin feeling silky smooth and conditions hair like no other emulsifier available. It also is not as heavy on the hair. Also, great in solid hair conditioners. It has 50% behentrimonium methosulfate, the active ingredient for conditioning hair. Try using BTMS-50 in your anhydrous whipped body butter for a higher melting point.
