Xanthan Gum clear is a natural gum polysaccharide created through fermentation of sugar (glucose or sucrose) by Xanthomonas campestris bacteria. Xanthan Gum is used in cosmetics as a thickener or rheology modifier and emulsion stabilizer. Xanthan Gum Clear is a higher purity, cosmetic grade made without hydration retardants for quicker thickening. It produces the clearest gels. Our Xanthan Gum Clear in solution will have greater viscosity and clarity than our Xanthan Gum Soft, but with more stringing effect.

Xanthan Gum Clear is a cosmetic grade Xanthan Gum which has been especially fermented for the demands of Cosmetic production, giving it a lower micron count (80), which leads to clearer formulations and better stability than standard Xanthan gum. Our Xanthan gum Clear is especially suited to Cosmetic use as the thickening is stable and temperature resistant.

Also our Xanthan gum Clear thickens with ease and blends well with other surfactants, emulsifiers, essential oils, fragrances, colourings and helps suspend particles. The particle suspension ability, makes Xanthan Gum Plus especially useful for exfoliant formulations.

Xanthan gum produces a large increase in the viscosity of a liquid with the addition of a very small amount of gum. Generally 1%, but as little as 0.1% can be used in many applications. Xanthan Gum is an excellent natural source thickener for lotions, creams, liquid soap, shower gels, body washes and shampoos.

Mixing Method: Clear Xanthan gum can be pre-dispersed in water, glycerin or propylene glycol and then immediately added to the water phase with mixing. Once the xanthan gum is fully hydrated, the resulting solution can be heated if necessary for the inclusion of other ingredients.

Compatibility: Works well with most ingredients.

Application: lotions, creams, liquid soap, shower gels, body washes and shampoos.

NOTE: Xanthan Gum will continue to thicken over the following days after manufacture. The final thickness of the Xanthan Gum based product will be heavily influenced by the amount of shear that the product has been subject to in manufacture. The greater the shear the thinner the final consistency will be.

Packaging: Our powders are packed in water proof ziplock pouches to avoid spillage.

Recommended Storage: Our powders should be stored in cool temperatures away from direct sunlight and moisture in an airtight container.
