Tinosorb S (Bemotrizinol) is a next-generation, broad-spectrum, oil-soluble UV filter designed for modern sunscreens and daily UV protection products. It provides exceptionally strong, stable, and long-lasting defense against both:
• UVA (320–400 nm)
• UVB (280–320 nm)

It is considered one of the most photostable UV filters in the world, maintaining its protective ability even after hours of sun exposure. Unlike older UV filters, Tinosorb S does not degrade into harmful radicals, does not irritate skin, and provides smooth, elegant sunscreen textures.

MODE OF ACTION (SCIENTIFIC EXPLANATION)

Tinosorb S protects the skin through two simultaneous mechanisms:

A. Absorption of UV Light

It absorbs harmful UVA and UVB photons and converts them into harmless, non-damaging heat.

B. Scattering & Reflection (minor effect)

Its molecular structure helps scatter a small portion of UV radiation, adding extra protection.

Photostability Advantage

Unlike Avobenzone (which degrades easily), Tinosorb S remains stable and protects other filters from degradation.

Stable in pH Range: 5.0 – 8.0 (it requires no strict pH control, as long as pH stays within normal skincare ranges)
Mixing Method:
 • Add to the oil phase                                                                                                         • Heat gently until fully dispersed                                                                                   • Heat-resistant up to 80–85°C                                                                                       • Avoid excessive temperatures to preserve stability.
• Must be emulsified properly for smooth finish
