Our organically crafted Tangerine Essential Oil is cold pressed from the tangy, sweet-smelling rinds of Citrus tangerina fruits cultivated in the sun-kissed orchards of Argetina. Used throughout history in Chinese culture and herbal health practices, the Tangerine fruit produces a fresh, zesty, citrusy-sweet smelling essential oil.

Description / Color / Consistency: A thin, clear, pale yellow to reddish orange liquid.

Aromatic Summary / Note / Strength of Aroma: A middle note with a medium aroma, Tangerine is typically fresh, tangy and sweet. With only subtle differences, it smells much like Mandarin. In comparison to Sweet Orange, Tangerine is lighter with sweeter notes.

Traditional use: It has less body than mandarin, but is sometimes used in soaps, cosmetics, and perfumes, especially colognes.

Properties: antiseptic, stimulant, and tonic.

Benefits: acne, congested and oily skin, insomnia, restlessness, scars, skin disorders, and stretch marks.

Blends With: Basil, Bergamot, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Neroli, Nutmeg and Orange .

Like all other citrus oils, Tangerine Essential Oil also holds uplifting properties during aromatic use. Tangerine Oil contains antioxidants and is commonly used for its stimulating and energizing effects. Tangerine Essential Oil is known for its antifungal and antiseptic properties, making it a popular ingredient in skin care formulas. It’s a great remedy against acne-causing bacteria keeping the skin clear of blemishes. Tangerine Oil also works for hair because of its antiseptic properties and helps treat dandruff, dry scalp and other scalp infections.

Essential oils like that of Tangerine that have high levels of the monoterpene Limonene are often known for their ability to have stimulating and enhancing effects on mood. The stimulating and mood-enhancing effects of Tangerine Oil can be experienced by using the oil aromatically – diffusing or inhaling the essential oil. In aromatherapy, Tangerine Oil works as a sedative by relieving anxiety, depression and nervousness. It also promotes healthy sleep. Tangerine Oil can also be used to inspire sensual moods, as it has potent aphrodisiac properties.

Cautions: This essential oil may contain phototoxic properties and it is suggested to avoid exposure to the sun after application to the skin. Dilute well before use; for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.

Storage: it is recommended that oils package in in metal containers (for safe shipping) or dark glass/amber containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum .
