Sodium PCA (Sodium Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid) is a naturally occurring humectant derived from amino acids. Found in human skin as part of the Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF), it plays a key role in maintaining optimal hydration levels. In cosmetic and personal care formulations, Sodium PCA is widely used as a moisturizing agent due to its excellent water-binding capacity.

Mixing Method

1. Dissolve Sodium PCA into distilled water or hydrosol at room temperature.
2. Stir until fully dissolved and incorporated into the water phase.
3. Can be added to emulsions during the cool-down phase (below 40°C) to preserve potency.
