Description
Lanolin is a rich, waxy substance derived from the wool of sheep, renowned for its powerful emollient and moisturizing properties. Often referred to as “wool wax” or “wool fat,” lanolin closely resembles human skin lipids, making it highly effective in repairing and maintaining the skin’s natural moisture barrier. It absorbs up to 2x its weight in water, making it ideal for deeply hydrating formulations. Pharmaceutical-grade lanolin is highly refined, safe, and hypoallergenic for cosmetic use.
BENEFITS OF USING LANOLIN:
-
Deeply moisturizes and softens dry, cracked, or rough skin
-
Acts as a natural barrier to prevent moisture loss (occlusive)
-
Excellent for healing chapped lips, elbows, heels, and hands
-
Enhances skin elasticity and suppleness
-
Absorbs water to help hydrate and plump the skin
-
Biocompatible with human skin—mimics skin’s own lipids
-
Safe and effective for baby care and nipple creams
