Description

Hyaluronic Acid (HMW) is a powerful humectant that helps retain moisture in the skin by attracting up to 1,000 times its weight in water. The high molecular weight version sits on the surface of the skin, creating a hydrating film that improves skin texture, elasticity, and plumpness.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a polysaccharide and a compound that occurs naturally in every tissue of the body, with the highest concentrations occurring in tissues such as skin, cartilage and eyes. Providing protection to cell structures, HA is the natural gel between skin cells that serves as a water reservoir for the cells. As we age, skin loses hyaluronic acid and the ability to hold sufficient water in this reservoir. Feeding new hyaluronic acid to skin may help hydrate skin’s intercellular reservoir, raising skin’s moisture level, and smoothing down age lines.

Topically, Hyaluronic Acid has water storing properties, making it an ideal swelling agent and lubricant, enabling its incorporation into cosmetics leading to a perceptible and visible improvement of skin condition. In use, it forms a thin transparent visco elastic surface film that helps to preserve the characteristics of youthful and healthy skin: suppleness, elasticity and tone.

How to dissolve Hyaluronic Acid Powder

Note that Hyaluronic acid powder is not easily soluble in water, as its can easily form lumps of thick gel. You need to use this method to make it dissolve into clear gel without clumps.

Method 1- leave it alone to Hydrate: Add hyaluronic acid powder to some water, cover and shake vigorously for 1-3mins, and then leave it alone for some hours to enable it hydrate the water.(its can also be refrigerated for atleast 3hours) . Keep checking the texture of the products until you notice that the powder has completely dissolve .(there is no sediment or any powder floating on it).

Method 2- sprinkling and stirring:
Gradually sprinkle Hyaluronic acid powder on the surface of the water little by little , then blend the water at a minimum speed of 1,000rpm , continue blending until combined.

Also, HYA can be pre-dispersed in glycerin or propylene glycol and then added to the water phase with mixing to reduce probability of forming clumps. Once it is fully hydrated, the resulting solution can be heated if necessary for the inclusion of actives. (So that Hyaluronic acid does not lose its quality pH must be between 3.0-9.0 And the temperature should not exceed 70 degrees.
