Description
Glycerin soaps are soaps that contain glycerin, a component of fat or oil. They are recognizably different from other soaps because they are translucent. The clarity is due to the alignment of the soap molecules, which can be induced through the addition of alcohol and sugar.
Our Glycerin Soap Base is odor-free and crystal clear. It provides excellent lather and can be used as hand soap, base for foamers, body wash or bubble bath. Made with 99.7% Pure Vegetable Glycerin, one of the best moisture-carrying vehicles used in cosmetics formulations. Glycerin is a humectant that absorbs water from the air, resulting in a base that hydrates and feels great.
Our melt and pour soap base is SLS free, and is a quality glycerine soap base designed to be easy to use for the first time or experienced soap maker
This clear transparent soap base is a classic soap base, the perfect blank canvas to add any colour or scent to it that you should desire – without the dangerous chemicals involved in cold process soap making.

Directions:
Use unscented (as-is) or add fragrance or essential oils at a ratio up to 1%. It may be possible to load up to 3% with fragrance but all fragrances and essential oils will react different so thorough testing in small batches is always recommended to ensure compatibility.
For every 1 oz of base, add 7 drops of fragrance or essential oil and that should equal 1%. The same is true for extracts and other additives. With infinite ingredient combinations, some may require a solubilizer and others may not. We have found that 2% is the “magic number” with additives. Again, compatibility testing in small batches is key.
Wait a minimum of 24 hours (preferably longer) as some issues don’t surface right away. Things to watch for are loss of viscosity, beading of oils not solubilizing (which can often be fixed by adding solubilizer), and clusters of milky cloudiness.
Preserve extracts (if they are not already preserved) before adding to base to avoid contamination.
Add color by using liquid colorants.
If thickening is desired, the recommendation is to make a solution of 20% salt to 80% deionized water and slowly add that to the base in a small test batch. Include appropriate amount of preservative. It is important to not overload it with salt, or it will collapse so it is recommended to test in a 2-4 oz batch by adding 1 drop solution, mix well and see what happens. If there will be any major issues it will usually show overnight.
