Description
Garlic essential oil is produced through steam distillation of crushed garlic cloves (Allium sativum). Unlike the culinary form of garlic, the essential oil is highly concentrated and possesses a strong, pungent, sulfurous aroma. It is not commonly used in perfumery due to its intense scent, but it is highly valued in traditional medicine, wellness formulations, and natural remedies.
For centuries, garlic has been considered a healing herb, especially for its ability to support immunity, fight infections, and improve circulation. The essential oil is regarded as a powerhouse of natural compounds, particularly sulfur-containing constituents like diallyl disulfide and diallyl trisulfide, which give it its distinctive smell and therapeutic potency.
