Coconut oil (heat pressed) is a common ingredient in many cosmetic applications due to its stability and its ability to soften the skin when applied to the body. Hot pressed coconut oil retains little of its natural composition because extraction involves extracting oil at high temperatures, which rises the acid value significantly. The high temperatures not only chang the chemical structure of oil, but in the process, a lot of important substances like vitamin E , sterols , and carotenoids.
Heat Pressed Coconut oil does not solidify like cold-pressed coconut oil, though it’s ability as an emollient and moisturizer is the same.
