Chammomile Hydrosol

Description

Chamomile hydrosol has anti-inflammatory properties so is said to be wonderful for sensitive skin. It can be used to help soothe skin inflammation such as acne, eczema, rashes and sunburn.

It makes for an excellent toner for sensitive skin as it is a mild astringent, though not recommended for long term use if you have dry skin.

With many calming properties it makes for an excellent room and/or pillow spray and is often used to help support a soothing sleep environment for both adults and babies.

Can be used for infants in the bath or spritzed on a cloth for a healthy alternative to baby wipes.

Benefits of chammomile hydrosol:
1. Relieve hot, irritated skin conditions
-Spray directly on the irritated area-chaffed skin, rashes, etc.
-Make a compress to hold the hydrosol on the affected area longer.

2. Clean & soothe minor cuts, -scrapes, burns, & other wounds
Spray directly on the wound and let air dry or gently pat dry the surrounding area with a clean cloth or paper towel. German chamomile hydrosol’s antibacterial activity helps clean and purify the wound while helping to ease pain and promote faster healing.

3. Soothe itchy, burning eyes
-Make a compress with a couple cotton balls and place them directly on the eyes. Keep eyes closed.

4. Heal scars & stretch marks
-chamomile is cicatrisant, which means it has skin cell regenerative properties. Spray directly on the scar area or make a compress to hold the hydrosol on longer.

5. Foot spray
-Spray directly on the feet. German chamomile has anti-fungal properties, making it perfect for relieving and healing hot, burning, itchy athlete’s foot or similar infections.

6. Alleviate unwanted muscle spasms
-Spray on spasming, tight, tense areas.
-Make a compress to hold the hydrosol in place longer.

7. Ease anger, frustration, anxiety, & situational depression
-Use as a refreshing facial mist when needing to calm and cool your emotions.
-Add to a diffuser to create an environment that is soothing and calming.

-Spray around a room to restore balance and ground the energy in that space and help provide a calming, soothing atmosphere.

9. Anti-allergenic spray
– chamomile is excellent for relieving minor allergic reactions. Spray directly on the skin, spritz on the face, or use a compress on the eyes.
-Add to a diffuser to help ease seasonal allergies.

10. Relieve diaper rash
-Since chamomile hydrosol is so gentle, it can be sprayed directly on a baby’s most sensitive areas to help soothe and relieve conditions such as diaper rash.

11. Promote sleep
-chamomile is so emotionally soothing, balancing, and calming, making it a perfect choice for helping promote restful sleep.
-Make a lovely linen spray and spritz directly on your linens.

Recommended Storage: our water/liquid base ingredients should be stored in cool temperatures away from direct sunlight and moisture in an airtight container.

These are the most genuine form of hydrosols (obtained by steam distillation of the plant parts): no infusion, no blend of essential oil and water; and no condensed water. These superior quality hydrosols are 3 to 5 times more concentrated when compared to other commercial grade hydrosols available in the market.

Our hydrosols are specifically distilled for the hydrosol, not produced as a by-product or even a co-product. These hydrosols are distilled using fresh plant material allowing us to capture not just all the volatile components of the plant, but more importantly, the cellular water from the living plant. This cellular water is usually lost under the conventional high pressurised steam runs for essential oils, or by using dried plant material. It is this cellular water, imbued with nutritious minerals, phytosterols, antioxidants, and countless other natural botanical chemicals, that imparts the hydrosol with the water-soluble aromatic and therapeutic properties of the plant.

Our exquisitely scented hydrosols therefore have a different make-up to their essential oil counterpart though they retain a small fraction of essential oil compounds (about 0.05 to 0.2 grams per litre) – mostly the gentler, more hydrophilic aromatic esters and alcohols. This is one of the reasons that makes hydrosols quite safe for children, the elderly, and anybody with pronounced sensitivities.

Our hydrosols are very versatile in use as:
Facial Cleanser: Moisten with a cotton pad and swipe across the skin of the face to cleanse.

Facial Spray: Close the eyes and lightly mist your face as a daily refresher. Store hydrosol in the refrigerator for extra-cooling skin relief.

Facial Mask: Mix the hydrosol with clay or body butter and apply to cleansed skin. Rinse after 10-15 minutes.

Bath Additive: Simply add to your bath water.

Hair Care: Spray onto cleansed hair and gently massage the hair and scalp. Do not rinse.
Deodorant & Perfume Spray: Mist under arms and as needed elsewhere to help prevent body odor.

Foot Spray: Mist the tops and bottoms of feet to help control foot odor and to refresh your feet.
Aroma Massage: Spray the hydrosol on oily skin before starting the massage.

Meditation/Prayer Spray: Hydrosols can be used to help enhance meditation and prayer.

Car Freshening Spray: Mist the interior of your car, avoiding polished, painted and fragile surfaces.

Linen Refresher: Simply spray to freshen and fragrance sheets, towels, pillows and other linens.
