Silky Wax is a high-performance emulsifying wax made from a combination of cetearyl alcohol (fatty alcohol) and ceteareth-20 (non-ionic emulsifier). It allows oil and water phases to combine into a smooth, stable, and creamy emulsion, making it a popular choice for skin and hair formulations.

It produces a soft, silky texture in lotions, creams, and conditioners, leaving skin smooth without a greasy feel. Silky Wax simplifies formulation because it’s a pre-blended emulsifier, reducing the need to mix multiple separate emulsifiers.

Recommended Usage Rate: 3–10% of the formulation depending on desired thickness and stability
Solubility: Soluble in oil (Forms stable oil-in-water emulsions when properly heated and mixed)
Stable pH Range: 4 – 8
Heat Sensitivity: • Melts at approximately 55–65°C
• Heat-sensitive additives (like vitamins or peptides) should be added during the cool-down phase

MIXING METHOD

• 1. Add Silky Wax to the oil phase of the formulation.
  2. Heat both oil and water phases separately to 70–75°C.
  3. Slowly add the water phase to the oil phase while stirring continuously.
  4. Continue stirring until a uniform emulsion forms.
  5. Cool to below 40°C before adding heat-sensitive ingredients like vitamins, fragrances, or peptides

PACKAGING

Our fatty alcohols are packed in waterproof zip-lock pouches to prevent spillage and maintain quality.

RECOMMENDED STORAGE

Store in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight.
