Cocamide monoethanolamine (MEA)

Cocamide Monoethanolamine (Cocamide MEA) is a non-ionic surfactant derived from coconut fatty acids and monoethanolamine. It is commonly used in personal care and household formulations as a foam stabilizer, viscosity builder, and emulsifying agent. Cocamide MEA enhances the texture, thickness, and cleansing efficiency of surfactant-based systems like shampoos, body washes, and liquid soaps.

Formulation Tip:

Melt Cocamide MEA before use and incorporate it into the surfactant blend at the heating phase (around 70°C). Stir well to ensure even dispersion. Avoid overheating and use alongside primary surfactants for best performance.

Applications:

Shampoos, liquid hand soaps, bubble baths, body washes, facial cleansers, pet shampoos, and industrial cleaning solutions.

Precautions:

For external use only. May cause skin or eye irritation if used at high concentrations. Always test in final formulation. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
