Description

Zinc PCA is the zinc salt of L-pyrrolidone carboxylic acid. It is a synergistic combination of two effective agents: zinc, which has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, and L-PCA, a naturally occurring component of the skin that helps regulate moisture balance. Zinc PCA is widely used in skincare and haircare formulations targeting acne, excess oil, and scalp health. It is especially effective for blemish-prone, oily, and combination skin types.

Mixing method: Add to water phase or cool-down phase of formulation. Can also be added to finished water-based products.

Melting temperature: Stable up to 70°C. Avoid heating above this to preserve efficacy.

Applications: Anti-acne serums, mattifying creams, toners, scalp tonics, lotions, facial cleansers, shampoos, and deodorants.

Precautions:
Zinc PCA should not be used at high concentrations in formulations meant for very dry or sensitive skin without appropriate moisturizing agents. For external use only.
