Description
The human body readily absorbs DL-Panthenol through the skin and it rapidly converts D-Panthenol to Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5), a natural constituent of healthy hair and a substance present in all living cells. When it comes to moisturization properties- improved hydration, reducing water loss and maintaining skin elasticity and softness.
Studies have shown D-Panthenol promotes stimulation of epithelization, granulation, mitigation of itching and has an anti-inflammatory effect. When used in formulations over the course of three to four weeks, it has the potential to improve the appearance of the skin, including dryness, roughness, scaling, pruritus and erythema.

SKIN:
D panthenol also known as Vitamin B5 works as a skin moisturizer, and keeps skin smooth, soft, and healthy.
Panthenol reinforces the skin barrier by reducing transepidermal water loss, regenerates healthy skin maintains cell stemness, and has very good compatibility with different cosmetics ingredients and actives.
It has anti-inflammatory effects and soothes irritated skin and improves symptoms of sensitive skin: like dryness, roughness, redness, pruritus.
HAIR:
This powerful ingredient is celebrated for moisturizing, thickening and boosting hair’s body quotient. It helps moisturize hair and skin and stops both from getting dehydrated. In addition, because panthenol also spreads evenly on the surface of the hair strand, it forms a smooth film over hair cuticles that enhance light reflection and makes tresses look shinier and glossier. What’s more, the smooth film also gives hair strands “slip” to discourage nasty knots or tangles, which also strengthens damaged hair.

Recommended Usage rate:
– 0.75–5% for nail care, shampoos, and conditioners & hairstyling products
– 1–5% in skincare, with the higher end of the range for more therapeutic applications.

Mixing method: Add to the water phase, Panthenol is heat sensitive so add it to your cool down phase. (add to just enough water to stir into the formula)
Melting point: PANTHENOL has a melting point of 64.5°- 68.5° Celsius.
